One of the most important reasons we’ve got a team here in Durban is to attend the Conference of Youth, or ‘COY’ for short. Over three incredible days, 500 young people from 65 different nations came together to learn how to build a domestic movement for change back home. Check out this great wrap-up!
What would you do in Durban?
Here’s a message from Gemma, one of our AYCC International team members in Durban, where the UN climate change talks are starting today. I’m writing this from a hostel room in Durban, where the AYCC International team has just landed for the UN climate talks. There are hundreds of young people here, all for the [...]
Reliving Power Shift 2011

Take the next step: Repower Australia: Get involved with the first phase of our campaign to Repower Australia with 100% renewable energy! The Government has [...]
Creative community outreach
At the AYCC we love pulling off crazy stunts – stunts like a 1000-person flashmob, or introducing the Climate Elephant to the Prime Minister. But our impact is built on more than that. The key to success is extremely simple: have conversations. Have lots of conversations, with lots of people, in lots of places. If [...]
Carbon price passes the lower house!!
Did you hear? The carbon price laws passed through the lower house of our Parliament today! Woo hoo! We’re pretty excited. It’s not everything we need (it still needs to go through the Senate in November, and we have a long way to go to get us to 100% renewable energy) – but let’s take [...]

It feels like we have been hearing about the Government’s carbon price plan for months now. So you might be wondering – why all the fuss when the government released the “legislation” of the carbon price this week? And how can you get involved? What does the release of the draft legislation mean? The [...]
Climate change, Power Shift, & transformation
For a lot of AYCC volunteers, their journey in the AYCC has taken many twists and turns – but for many, it all started in 2009, when they attended Power Shift. With Power Shift 2011 just a few months away, here’s one take on why Power Shift is so transformational from Joel, our Online Grassroots [...]

The sunrise couldn’t have been more beautiful Sunday morning. As it rose beams of hope flooded the nation, as this was the day that the details of the Carbon Price [...]
