Join AYCC Victoria!

aycc vicGetting involved with the AYCC in Victoria isn’t just about solving the climate crisis: it’s about meeting amazing like-minded people, learning new skills, trying out new things, and being part of an exciting, inspiring and growing movement!

You can get involved in an existing local group (see the short list below), or create a new one in your school or uni, as well as come on-board centrally and help coordinate groundbreaking new campaigns in our fun and hyper-active Lygon street office. We’re always doing something; focussing on cultural change at the local level; meeting politicians to push for political action; or getting together for social events, fundraisers, and trainings.

We currently have groups in: St. Kilda, Hawthorn, University of Melbourne, RMIT, Geelong, Glen Waverley, Albury-Wodonga, Brunwick, Darebin, Ballarat, Werribee, Macedon Ranges, and Moonee Ponds. If you live near any of these groups, get in touch and we’ll help you get involved in some local climate action! If these groups aren’t near you, still contact us and we can chat about starting up a new group!

We want YOU in 2012, there’s no time like now to solve the climate crisis! Get in touch vic@aycc.org.au or connect with us on Facebook.

quit coal action

Let me start of by saying, my first week as an AYCC intern was by far the best week of work experience possible. The highlight of which was definitely the Quit Coal protest I was lucky enough to take part in. Tuesday April the 3rd was the day when we, along with Quit Coal Australia, [...]

I was lucky enough to spend this weekend on the Mornington Peninsula with some amazing Vic core volunteers, at our state training camp. We arrived at Rosebud on Friday night and decided to have a relaxing evening before beginning training the next morning. Of course when you throw 13 Vic vollies into a house together, [...]

monash chalking

Last week, Vic volunteers chatted to thousands of young people about how 100% renewable energy is possible and necessary. On Tuesday, Laura and I went to Monash Caulfield. As a petitioning newbie and a horrible public speaker, I was pretty nervous. Don’t tell anyone, but I’d been up since seven practising my Repower spiel – [...]

Training Day Photo

On Sunday, the 19 February, the AYCC Geelong branch ran an introduction and training day for youth in Geelong at the Deakin University waterfront campus. The day, intended to equip new volunteers with the tools they needed to act for greater commitment to renewable energy, consisted of workshops, modules and presentations on climate science and [...]
