Get involved in Repower Australia in WA!

In just one year, AYCC WA has grown from a small group of young people to a broad grassroots movement that has empowered thousands of people across the state. AYCC groups have started up in Fremantle, Perth Central, Murdoch, Curtin, UWA and Bunbury, organising all sorts of events and activities as part of our massive Repower Australia campaign. Here are some ways you can get involved:

Run your own Repower Event

– Hold a Repower event and raise money to switch your local pub, cafe, school canteen or other venue to renewable energy. If we can hold over 100 Repower events before July, it will send a strong message to our politicians that we want a country powered by 100% renewable energy. Read More

AYCC WA looking back over 2011

In 2011, AYCC WA ran a 100-person Climate Ambassador Training, facilitated meetings between hundreds of young people and their Federal politicians, inspired thousands of high school students through our climate change presentations, hosted the first Repower events in the country, brought together 250 young people for the 3-day youth climate summit “Power Shift” in Perth and jump started the formation of several new grassroots youth climate groups in WA. 2012 is sure to be an even more incredible year. Its now time to Repower Australia with 100% renewable energy!

Perth Power Shift

– What an amazing 3 days! Late last year Power Shift came to Perth! Over three amazing days, hundreds of young people heard from inspirational speakers, developed skills at workshops, and took part in a collective action on the final day. We are still absolutely buzzing with excitement! All the conversations we’ve had with delegates have made it clear that the weekend was super impactful, and has created a lot of momentum for the WA youth climate movement!
You can see a sampling of the photos here and you can see a video of Power Shift and of the flashmob here.
