The team at AYCC ACT loves a laugh and we find great hope in working alongside many young people to create a community that will contribute to the future sustainability of our planet. We are united by both a concern for the future of our planet and the excitement of taking action that will help prevent serious climate change. We are always sharing ideas, running high-impact projects, developing our knowledge and skills, and of course catching up for regular social events.
If this sounds like the group for you, then there is plenty to get involved with in 2012! Through ‘Switched On Schools’ we will continue to support students to make their communities more sustainable and will provide many opportunities for them to share their learning through a broad schools network.
We will bring Repower to the ACT; the nation-wide campaign that helps local businesses and venues invest in renewable energy and show that 100% renewable energy in Australia is possible. Throughout we will have hundreds of conversations with community members, other environmental groups and politicians to build the support that is necessary for positive change.
Most excitingly, in 2012 we hope to meet many new young people and find a place for them in our ever-growing team. We hope you will come help us shape the climate movement in the ACT and beyond!
