Western Sydney is often looked to as one of Australia’s key political battlegrounds – and the place where the carbon price debate could be won or lost.

Parramatta resident Ramya Krishnan, from the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, told crowds of thousands at the rally that families in western Sydney share the rest of Australia’s concerns on climate change.
“The mothers and fathers in western Sydney have big dreams. These are families who are struggling just like everyone else, but who want to leave a better world for their children and future generations,” she said.
