The AYCC has launched a national training and internship project – the Youth Climate Leaders Project.
Leaders’ workshops and presentations happening in Sydney and Melbourne at the moment show signs of great things to come from these community leaders.
Around 30 young people have begun a journey that will build their skills and knowledge around climate change issues so they can be the most effective change makers Australia has ever seen. 150 youth from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and some regional areas will go through the training program.
The biggest youth movement Australia has seen is getting skilled up in preparation for Powershift in July and the Copenhagen negotiations in December.
The Australian Government is falling behind in climate policy once again – and the young people of Australia won’t accept that. We are building and mobilising a generation of leaders to stop climate change.
