Christian Youth Climate Declaration

As Sydney recovers from World Youth Day festivities, the AYCC is proud to announce the launch of the Christian Youth Climate Declaration.

This declaration unites Christian organisations from all over the world in their commitment to take action on Climate Change. It addressees Climate Change as a moral issue in which the least advantaged, such as people living in developing countries, are the most vulnerable and at risk.

13 Christian organisations have already signed on with more giving support, plus over 500 individuals. The Declaration was officially launched at the ‘Come to the Water’ festival at Bondi Beach, with a super video played on a big screen to 5000 people and a great volunteer team to get the audience involved.

Amanda McKenzie, AYCC Co-Director, also spoke at the Catholic Earthcare Australia event ‘Caring for Creation’ on the Friday about young Christians being active against Climate Change, and has received lots of positive feedback.
